Legacy Society

Together, Toward Tomorrow is our annual fund and legacy campaign. To date, hundreds of donors, just like you, have designated gifts to Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio (LSS) and our partner organization Lutheran Ministries of Mercy. In part, these gifts will help us sustain everlasting impact.

As part of our on-going desire to learn more about you and those who have remembered us with a legacy, estate or planned gift, we have created the Legacy Society. When you notify Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio that you have remembered our organization in your plans, you become a member of the Society.

Donor benefits include:

  • Special communication from our President & CEO
  • Invitation to events
  • Recognition in our Legacy society Honor Roll (unless you chose an anonymous gift)

Ways to enjoy a legacy gift during your lifetime

1. Enjoy Financial Flexibility

Legacy gifts offer valuable tax benefits to those who support LSS whether it is a bequest, a will or trust, a designation in a retirement plan or life insurance policy, making a legacy gift is a wise way to give!

2. Support what matters most

As a donor to LSS you can designate gifts to an area of personal significance to you including direct support of a program or volunteer service. Many gifts are unrestricted, which helps LSS address its most pressing needs.

3. Make it simple

Including LSS in your legacy decisions can be made very easy. As a life event such as marriage, a birth of a child or grandchild prompt you to create or update a will, remember a gift to us. Beneficiary designations can be made in any amount and will be valued forever.

4. Be Counted

Rather than wait until you are gone, let us recognize you today. When you inform us of your gift, you are also making a powerful statement to family and friends about the role that God and philanthropy played in your life. As a member of our Legacy Society, you will be counted among our greatest blessings.
