Renewal - Terri Rodriguez, President & CEO
As we welcome the New Year at Lutheran Social Services we are thankful for the holiday season just past. The treasured memories of these days carry us, with grateful hearts, into the promise of a new year. As we move forward in faith, our Lutheran Ministries of Mercy affiliation; the internal goals we set for ourselves; and how we interact with one other and our community sets us apart from many other non-profit agencies.
Together, and individually, our ministries work with a strong sense of obligation to others. We are committed to engaging and supporting individuals and families so that they may overcome obstacles that prevent them from experiencing contentment, health and quality of life. We are grateful for the many donors, volunteers and supporters who join us in this commitment and we strive to use our financial resources wisely to benefit those trusting in our care.
We plan to do our part in strengthening our communities in the belief that together, we may achieve more. Lutheran Ministries of Mercy affiliates serve thousands of people spanning 24 counties in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. We employ more than 700 people and contribute almost 33 million dollars annually to our local economies.
We can never forget, however, that our most powerful message happens one person, and one day at a time. The blessing of staff members committed to care reflects our heartfelt mission. You see this in the halls of LSS…it is reflected in the faces of those seeking nourishment from our foodbanks…and mirrored in the faces of those given hope in their battle with addictions or those confronting overwhelming mental health issues.
As we usher in 2018, we look forward to our continued work together and pray that God will bless you with His continuing presence, peace, and joy throughout the New Year.
