Heather has been receiving Financial Coaching Services at Crossroads since May of 2014 with the ultimate goal of home ownership. She focused on decreasing debt and increasing her credit score.  She has eliminated $1,800 worth of outstanding collection debt from her credit report increasing her credit score by 85 points.

She successfully participated and completed Twin Account credit building loan to create installment line of credit and was approved for a Capital One secured credit card to establish revolving credit history.  Heather also recently purchased a vehicle continuing to build her credit history and secure reliable transportation for work.

Heather is actively working with Habitat for Humanity toward home ownership.  She has completed required sweat equity hours, created a savings account for down payment, and chosen her home that was recently in the rehabilitation process. She completed, submitted, and was approved for home loan application. Heather began moving into new residence January 1st, 2016. She is excited about progress and continues to focus on reducing debt, increasing net income, and building credit with goal of self-employment in the future.

Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio (LSSNWO) is a Christian agency founded in 1911 by the Fremont Conference of the American Lutheran Church. LSSNWO is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and recognized by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). More than 200 Lutheran congregations in Northwestern Ohio are corporate members of LSSNWO. Lutheran Social Services also is a member of one of the nation’s largest service organization – Lutheran Services of America.
