Scott Hub Awesome & Active in the Community

On Saturday, April 22, more than 2,800 youth were at over 75 sites volunteering across Northwest Ohio from 9 a.m.-12:00 p.m. as part of Global Youth Service Day.

About 10 youth and volunteers from the Scott learning community gathered and put in a day’s worth of hard work tending to the urban farm on Mentor Street, about eight blocks from the school.

Some of the tasks volunteers completed were; replaced and secured murals, composted dead plants, prepared raised bed boxes/topped off soil, mulched pathways, secured goat fence, and placed pathway stones.

It was a wonderful experience and many of the youth stated the importance of creating positive change in their community.
